The performance celebrates the timelessness of the Celtic soul through captivating melodies, choral arrangements, and Celtic prayers. The performance flows seamlessly between pieces, styles and centuries as it traces the evolution of Celtic music from its ancient roots in Eastern chant, to melodies from the Celtic regions of Galicia (northern Spain), Norway, and other parts of Europe, to Irish fiddle tunes and music by celebrated composers such as Turlough O’Carolan, Sean O’Riada, and Michael McGlynn. An imaginative use of choral and instrumental resources will deepen an understanding of Celtic musical and spiritual traditions and feature a band of accomplished musicians playing Irish harp, wooden flute, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, concertina, bodhrán, double bass, pipe organ and Highland pipes as they accompany the singers with colorful instrumentation. In addition, Pastor Bill will be reading and four members of our congregation, including Karen & Ken Loveland and Audrey & Mark Malone will be singing under the direction of our organist, Suzanne Gates.

PARENTING WITH THE BRAIN IN MIND is a course that shares the powerful tools of mindfulness, restorative discipline, and brain science with parents. The strategies contained in the course will address the need for positive, restorative discipline to be used with children throughout their early years. It will help parents to understand how their child’s brain develops, and demonstrate techniques parents can use to guide their children to greater emotional intelligence, self-control, and focus. Use of these strategies increases cooperation and positive interaction between children, and among children and adults, and are relationship-altering as children grow and learn every day.
