United Methodist Women

The West Hartford United Methodist Women provide the opportunity for spiritual growth, Christian service and fellowship.  Your friends will be there to rejoice with you in good times and to give you support and encouragement in difficult times. We seek to evangelize, encourage and equip women in their personal walk with Jesus Christ through Christian fellowship, learning and service. Purpose United Methodist Women (UMW) is the group of women at West Hartford United Methodist Church (UMC) organized for missions.  The UMW is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative and supportive fellowship, and to expand the concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.  A member of UMW is one who commits herself to our purpose and chooses to participate in regular meetings, prayer, giving, study, action, and service.  General UMW meetings are held quarterly.  Membership is open to all women of the church. We invite all to join us. Missions

The UMW is extremely active in ministry at West Hartford UMC through service and the support of many mission projects.  We strive to make a difference in our own lives, the lives of our fellow UMW members, our church, our community, and our world.  There are Monday and Tuesday Morning Missions groups that meets at 9:30am each week at the church and work on dozens of projects for charities across the state and produce stunning crafts for the annual October Harvest Fair.
